Ride report for 11th November 2017

This ride was lead by Rik Boon. This is one of the most popular routes that the club does as it covers the best parts of the nearby Dales. The weather was kind  to us; the sun shone highlighting the late autumn oranges and  browns on the hillsides and of the fallen leaves. We stopped for a few minutes of remembrance at 11.00 near Burnsall. The route travels the length of Wharfedale from Bolton Abbey to Arncliffe in Littondale and then to Buckden Triangle as far as Hubberholme. It was to Zarina’s in Kettlewell that we then sped to enjoy a cafe stop with lots of Aga eggs consumed along with overflowing plates of beans on toast for some. Along the Kilnsey road to Linton we travelled. Then from the quarry to town we kept an inclusive pace (18+mph) using an inside line chain change-over until the sprint down the hill to the High Street.

All smiles at Arncliffe

Simon’s face tells the story!

A significant milestone was achieved by Simon on this ride.  He reached a 1000 miles of cycling for the year as he continues his recovery from last year’s setbacks. Everyone witnessed his joy and enthusiasm for his cycling!

More of the same please will make the winter tolerable.
