Club rides during the Covid situation
Skipton CC rides have resumed as lockdown has eased, but they are run under strict guidelines. Members of the club need to let us know that they intend to ride and not just turn up.
We will organise 2 routes per Saturday, these routes will remain the same for 2 weeks. Giving you the opportunity to do both routes over a 2-week period. However from December 2020 cafe stops are limited to outside takeaways because indoor mixing of households isn’t allowed, so you’ll need those extra layers!
Everyone wanting to join the ride must click ‘going’ on the Facebook event so that groups of 6 can be organised prior to Saturday morning. If you do not use Facebook, please let a member of the committee know, prior to the event, that you are attending.
Only 2 groups of up to 6 riders will set off on each route, a total of 24 max. One person per group of 6 will be asked to act as ride leader for that group, to ensure: safe socially distanced riding, hygiene protocols are adhered to and other club guidance is followed.
Anyone wanting to ride, needs to be self-sufficient and carry all their own spares, snacks and enough to drink – we will not be allowed to share.
If you have experienced any symptoms of Covid-19 in the past 7 days or been advised to self-isolate, please do not join a ride. Please also check that your personal and contact details are correct on your British Cycling account as we may need to use these should a fellow rider subsequently develop symptoms and we need to contact you.
We would also like to mention that the High Street is closed to traffic, this includes bikes, so please use the top of the High Street or from the Town Hall car park to access Chevin.
We hope to see you soon.
